Foothill Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Department
New Construction, Inpatient, OSHPD, Design-Build
Foothill Presbyterian Hospital needed to relocate its emergency services and structurally upgrade the building at the main corridor. To achieve the hospital’s goals, we designed a 15,000-sf addition and a 3,000-sf, four-story elevator tower addition, which replaced the elevators servicing the existing hospital. With 23 beds in acute-treatment bays separated by privacy walls and designed around a central core nurse station, the floor plan maintains a balance of privacy and efficiency. The unit also features a dedicated x-ray room and an elevator that facilitates patient transport to other departments. The building has been designed with careful consideration to materials and scale of the existing hospital as well as to the residential surroundings.
