Kaiser Permanente Palm Court II Call Center
Kaiser Permanente transformed an expansive warehouse into a unique and striking medical business and call center. Facing the challenge of transforming a large open space into a welcoming work environment, Kaiser set the goal of creating distinct identities for each of the 17 departments to be housed in the building, as well as creating an atmosphere that speaks to a younger work force but maintains a sense of professionalism. All this had to fit within the image that supports Kaiser’s national brand. The concept imagines the facility as a metaphorical village made up of its own internal “streets” that connect the numerous departmental “neighborhoods,” “parks,” and “community centers.” Uniquely designed and richly colored angular facades create an identifying entry to each department. The conference area is the community center shared by all the neighborhoods, with coffee and food areas embellished to have a restaurant-like atmosphere.
