SLAC Building 52 ACCELERATOR CONTROL AND NETWORK ROOM
Menlo Park, California
The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) needed the design for the build-out of the new Accelerator Control Room and Network Room delivered within four weeks. This included the design of new interior finishes and the MEP systems to support the program requirements and expected loads. The equipment in these rooms is expected to increase and evolve over time, necessitating flexibility in workstation configurations. The rooms include multiple displays and monitors to control the accelerator, so site lines, glare, and monitor visibility are critical. Using 3D modeling, we showed the client what the views from each staff control location would be, and provided renderings with a photo-realistic quality that illustrate the true functionality of the space. Taylor Design worked closely with the team to meet the tight deadline and all the client’s program requirements.
