Great Healthcare


This is not a typo! We believe in offering our staff healthcare excellence that is affordable to all. All eligible employees working over 30 hours a week are offered free Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance. Our medical plan is with Kaiser Permanente (100% of employee-only premium is covered). Additional buy-up options of an HMO or PPO are available with UnitedHealthcare (70% of employee-only premium is covered). You can elect the buy-up option and add dependent coverage via tax-free semi-monthly paycheck deductions.

We provide an annual stipend for every employee for continuous learning opportunities. In addition, we pay 50% of your primary professional organization membership and we offer 2-3 classes in our own Taylor Design University each week complete with free lunch included. In support of architectural licensing we provide ARE® study materials and membership to the Black Spectacles® online learning site. We reimburse licensure fees for AIA, LEED, EDAC, ACHA, NCIDQ, ULI and other certifications and provide access to LinkedIn Learning for all employees. With prior approval you may attend conferences (and report out what you learn). We have internal BIM/Revit user groups and various quality assurance committees. During our Thirsty Thursdays, we take a break at the end of the day and talk about new ideas, interests, design, and occasionally take a deep dive into a recent project.

Taylor Design is a 100% employee-owned firm where the profits are shared amongst the employees through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). You enter the plan on the closest January 1 after working 1,000 hours in that calendar year. Full vesting occurs after 6 years.

We offer two weeks of accrued vacation time (80 hours) per year (begins accruing immediately). Since we understand that employees get sick or need to care for a sick family member, we offer 40 hours of sick leave a year (prorated if part-time or joining mid-year).

We offer up to nine paid holidays a year depending on how it falls on the calendar: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. If you are part-time, this benefit will be prorated.

Did we mention our flexible weekly work schedule? We work 9 hours a day Monday through Thursday and 4 hours on Friday. We place a high priority on work/life balance so please let us know if you require a modified schedule.
